Rams Head is the place in Baltimore and Annapolis for live entertainment and great food to match. The Rams Head Group is an association of business which include Rams Head Live, Rams Head On Stage, Rams Head Tavern, Rams Head Roadhouse, Rams Head Shore House and Pier Six.
Description

I got in touch with the people at Rams Head through MICA. Our professor, Bernard Canniffe, made contact with them for a poster project but I started talking with them separately about a possible redesign of their previous blog site located at http://www.ramshead.wordpress.com . They wanted to update the site with a fresh looked that matched their branding campaign as well as a blog that had some added features.
Goals
The goals of the project are to attract readers to the site partially based on how good looking the blog was as well as have a site that matched their current and future branding and could serve as a fine example of what Rams Head is all about. The company is celebrating 20 years and they are changing over to more of the aesthetic quality of the new blog site in the near future.
Concept
The concept for the site is more or less based on a facet of the branding of Rams Head which includes the large brick background photograph. I based the design around that to some degree because it says a lot about the venues and the company. The transparency and general blog layout were formatted to work with the nice image and to continue the same branding ideas started in the image. The color palette is very clearly inspired by the photograph and the blog logo tries to continue the visual trend set for the rest of the blog.
Solution
The final blog design, after much work, is a dynamic new direction for Rams Head and it’s partnering sites. It has something for the entire demographic of readers and hopefully something for those who appreciate a well designed blog as well. I’ve been enjoying working with the company on this project and hope that I can continue my relationship with them in the future. Visit the Live Site Now >
